 Coldplay

  • X & Y
  1. "Square One" - 10 out of 10 (A++) [Engaging; It is great to play while doing homework, before I noticed the lyrics were about writing]
  2. "What If" - 8 out of 10 (B+) [Slow, but emotional]
  3. "White Shadows" - 9 out of 10 (A-) [Nice song to play in any mood, but gets stuck in your head easily]
  4. "Fix You"8 out of 10 (B+) [Depressing song, but after the third time you hear the song, the tone of voice get annoying. Good song]

  6. "X & Y" - 10 out of 10 (A++++) [Awesome guitar and lyrics! Gets stuck in your head, but you won't regret it]
  7. "Speed Of Sound" - 9 out of 10 (A+) [Nice melody, but the very first line with the guitar gets very annoying]
  8. "A Message" - 7 out of 10 (C+) [Great for making checking your emails, because it's pretty ambient and easy to ignore]
  9. "Low" - 9 out of 10 (A-) [Very nice flow, a sense of hope delivered within]
  10. "The Hardest Part" - 8 out of 10 (B+) [The song has some odd chords and the pitch seems sharp, but it's a fav. Good melody]
  11. "Swallowed In The Sea" - 9 out of 10 (A-) [Nice sound, but just about every verse in this song sounds exactly the same]
  12. "Twisted Logic" - 9 out of 10 (A+) [Same as above, except for the second half: that by itself would be a 10 out of 10]
  13. "Til Kingdom Come" - 4 out of 10 (F-) [Erg...very annoying and kind of scary the way it's sung]

AVERAGE = 8 out of 10 (B+) [An okay choice if you like Alternative, Rock , Electronica, or even Pop (not that it is Pop); Good album if you want to fill your CD collection up. On the other hand, if you like Coldplay, this is a must-have]

Second Thought = A+++

Jethro Tull

  • Aqualung
  1. "Aqualung" 10 out of 10 (A++++) [Odd beginning, but great as the song goes on; Catchy! Has a somewhat 70s feel]
  2. "Cross-Eyed Mary" 10 out of 10 (A++) [Cool and nice rhythm to it; for you flute players, the beginning is easy! Odd lyrics, though]
  3. "Mother Goose" 9 out of 10 (A+) [Very odd lyrics, but it's great to listen to occasionally, if not often]
  4. "Hymn 43"8 out of 10 (B+) [Cool song, but repetitive; again, odd lyrics. Yet, it is catchy!]
  5. "Wind Up"8 out of 10 (B+) [The recording is too quiet, but gains tempo and intensity; repetitive and long, but it's a good song]
  6. "Lick Your Fingers Clean"6 out of 10 (D+) [Weird...but great guitar; without the instruments, this would be a little worse]
  7. "Wind Up (Quad Version)" 6 out of 10 (D+) [Compared to the first recording, this is too quiet, repetitive, and longer. Okay though]
  8. "Songs for Jeffrey" 10 out of 10 (A++) [Great song! Sadly, it's live, it would be better if weren't (A+++!). Too quiet as well. Catchy!]
  9. "Fat Man" 9 out of 10 (A+) [The version in "Stand Up" (below) is clearer, but it's still good for first-timer's)
  10. "Bourée" (I) - 9 out of 10 (A+) [Way too quiet. Once again, the "Stand Up" version is much more clear. Better flute solo's, though]

AVERAGE = 8 out of 10 (B+) [Good, not very clear recording. Odd lyrics, but they do tell a story. Great for people who want variety, play/like the flute, or for people who likes rock. Somewhat similar to Freedom-Works Films "Project"]
